Appearance: Tall and with a strong body that would be described politely as being big boned, Idana's figure is still quite distinctly feminine, well curved and long legged.
She has a heart shaped face, big brown eyes framed by long dark eyelashes with a small upturned nose and delicate jaw line that contrasts with her more solid build.
Her black hair is thick and luxurious and uncontrollable; no matter how tightly she ties it back curls will escape to messily frame her face. When not tied up it falls down to below her shoulder blades.
Personality: To put it bluntly, she comes across as a typical air head, focusing on looking pretty and catching boys attentions. She is not afraid of hard work, its just that she is easily distracted. Idana is at her happiest amongst people, chatting away. Quite empathetic, when your sad she's sad, when your happy she's delighted. While not much use with serious problems, she will offer a shoulder to cry on and try to cheer her friends up.
Often day dreaming, since she was little was always fascinated with dragons, and once puberty kicked in dragon riders. Idana likes to be liked, and so is likely to be taken advantage off, whether it is taking on someone's chores when they asked imploringly because they had something more important to be done, or on her back with a boy because he looked at her sadly and said he loved her.
It's hard to imagine she possesses any guile, but she has a secret: she doesn't just want to be with a dragon rider, she wants to BE a dragon rider. But not a gold, she dreams of being a green or even a blue rider, fighting Thread and saving Pern. Ridiculous dreams, she knows, and not the type a good, proper girl should be having, but that doesn’t stop her from sneaking a look at the blues and greens occasionally and sighing.

History: Born to a drudge at Fort Hold, she learned early enough that she was a girl and what was expected of her. She didn't need to worry her pretty head about things other than getting her chores done, not causing trouble and getting a husband.
She never minded drudgework, there was always other women to talk and to listen to, though often what went in one ear went out the other. Still, her sunny personality earned her many friends, so long as they knew not to expect too much from her.
One thing that remained constant was a fascination with dragons. Whenever one visited the hold she would stop and stare until she was hit and shouted at to get back to work.
Once she became of interest to men she was delighted in the attention she would receive. Idana liked to be liked, and quickly lost her virginity to the first boy who said he loved her. She was devastated by his disinterest the next day, but she quickly bounced back. She found that other boys were interested in her, and so she would respond quite happily. Perhaps this next one would stick around.
However, the boys in the hold would find themselves ignored whenever a Dragonrider visited the hold. While previously it had just been the dragons that had attracted her, now it was the riders who held her interest. It wasn't long before she was taken back to Fort Weyr by a searchrider.
